First, paint the painting board with stone gray handicraft paint. using a painting sponge. The paint sponge ensures that there are no typical brushstrokes, which gives your project an even base coat. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly before moving on to the next step.

Add golden splashes of color

Dilute some golden handicraft paint with water. Dip your brush into the diluted paint, hold it over the painted painting board and run your thumb through the brush hairs. This creates lots of different blobs that give your advent calendar a special shine.

Prepare the hanging

Would you like to hang up the Advent calendars? Then stick two wall plate holders to the back of the painting board and attach a ribbon to them to hang it up. This way, you can easily hang your advent calendar on the wall later.

Decorating matchboxes

Decorate each matchbox with a ribbon, of an Advent number and a sprinkle. These decorations turn each box into a small work of art and create anticipation when you open it.

Arrange the boxes

Place the matchboxes in the shape of a fir on the painting board. This gives your calendar a beautiful Christmas shape and fits in perfectly with the festive decorations.

velcro strap attach

Press the velcro strap (soft and rough side) together and cut it into pieces approx. 4 cm long. Remove the protective film from one side and stick the velcro strap to the back of each matchbox. Then remove the second protective film and attach the boxes to the painting board. The velcro strap makes it easy to remove and reattach the boxes at any time.
