Painting terracotta pots creatively - how to start your DIY project
Start by customising your terracotta pots to your taste. You can use craft paint to paint them in a single colour, decorate them with intricate patterns or personalise them with lettering. Craft paint is a water-based paint that is particularly suitable for creative projects and adheres to many surfaces.

If you want to realise a specific motif, you can find inspiration and templates in our online shop or on the internet. It is best to draw these onto your pots lightly with a pencil. This makes it easy to colour in lines and shapes. Then allow the paint to dry completely - this is important so that nothing smudges or flakes off later.

Cutting and preparing the felting
The next step is to cut a circle out of felting that corresponds exactly to the diameter of the base of the pot. The felt will later serve as a soft cover inside the terracotta pots and hold the lights of the LED chain of lights in place.
Carefully preserve a small hole in the centre of the felt circle with a lace object. The chain of lights will later be threaded through this hole. Make sure you work cleanly so that the felting does not tear.

Insert and fix the chain of lights
Now glue the prepared felt circle into the base of the pot using a little handicraft glue. Craft glue is a universal adhesive for creative work and is suitable for materials such as felting and clay.
Now insert the outdoor chain of lights into the pots from above so that the lights are inside. Finally, fix the chain of lights inside with a little hot glue. Hot glue hardens quickly and ensures that everything stays securely in place.
