Tealight glass hanger
Instructions No. 2540These tealight jar hangers are an ideal outdoor decoration for your next garden party. The pretty tealights are colored with Acohol Ink and are equipped with LED tealights, so they also provide a decorative light source indoors.
Per tealight jar you need 8 skeins of the warp yarn, for the short hangers each with 1 m length, the long hangers need skeins in a length of approx. 2 m.
Knotting tea light jar hangers
Knot all 8 strands together, fix this knot at the bottom of the tealight jar with adhesive tapes. Knot 2 strands at a time, first at the middle height of the tealight jar, then offset at the top edge of the jar.Now begin tying all 8 strands into a pretty hanging cord using the spiral knot. In our tutorial "macramé spiral knot" this macramé technique is explained to you by video and step by step.
The end of the hanging cord is a wooden ring. The strands are looped into the wooden ring and fixed with a simple knot, then decorated with a winding knot. Also for the winding knot there is a detailed tutorial with video, which explains how to tie step by step.
Finally, remove the adhesive strips that you used to fix the tealight jar at the beginning. Knot the other tealight jar suspensions using the same principle.
Colored glass design with Alcohol Ink
To ensure that the paint adheres well, first clean the glass surface so that it is free of dust and grease. Apply Alcohol Ink paint to the glass and spread the liquid paint with a bellows. To thin the paint and for more transparent color effects, we recommend using Alcohol Ink Extender. Each colored glass design with Alcohol Ink is unique, because this technique consists of creating abstract always surprising color gradients and effects. Look forward to your very own personal tealight glass hanger!
