A creative wind light for atmospheric evenings - easy to make yourself

Do you want to give your home an individual and cozy atmosphere? A homemade wind light made from wood and cast blocks is not only a real eye-catcher, but also a perfect project for creative crafting sessions. In this detailed step-by-step guide, you will learn how to create a charming wind light for candles or chains of lights using casting powder and craft blocks. Discover the fun of DIY and create a unique piece that will brighten up your home!

Step 1: Making the casting blocks

Prepare the material Mix about 3 tablespoons of casting powder with water to create a creamy mixture. Make sure that the consistency is not too runny.

Fill the mold Pour the prepared mixture into the mold and tap it lightly. This will release any air bubbles and give you smooth blocks. Important: Do not lift the mold to ensure even hardening.

Hardening and finishing Allow the mixture to dry for approx. 30 minutes. Then you can carefully remove the blocks from the mold. Smooth the edges with sandpaper for a clean look. Then leave the blocks to harden completely for another 12 hours. Repeat this process until you have the required number of 42 cast blocks in total.

Step 2: Create the foundation for the wind light

Lay the base Take 7 wooden blocks and glue them together on the long, narrow sides. This forms the stable floor for your wind light.

Build the walls Place the cast blocks alternately on top of the wooden blocks. Make sure that the blocks are glued staggered to create a stable structure.

Step 3: Complete the wind light

Adjust the height You can make your wind light higher or lower, depending on how many blocks you use and the look you want to achieve.

Reinforce the corners When you are happy with the height of your lantern, glue two wooden craft blocks to each corner to provide additional stability.

Add a finishing frame Glue a frame of wooden blocks to the top of the wind light, to finish it off in style.

Step 4: Decoration and use

Add a light source Insert a candle or a chain of light into the wind light, to let it shine in its full splendor.

With this homemade wind light , you not only create enchanting lighting, but also add a personal touch to your living space. Let your creativity run wild and discover the variety of possibilities to make your wind light even more individual.
