How do I decorate the insect hotel?
First you prime the raw wood insect hotel with white outdoor paint. Base and roof should then be painted in orange. Afterwards let everything dry thoroughly
Then the pages from insect hotel with the Napkin are pasted. Choose an Napkin of your choice. We have chosen a Napkin with flower motif and hope that our insects like it.
Is the Napkin technique suitable for outdoor use?
The Napkin technique can also be used outdoors. You can use the normal Napkin varnish. for this, but you can also use special outdoor paint. The top layer of the Napkin, or the desired cutout, is attached to the sides of the insect hotel with a little varnish, so that the Napkin sticks first. Then one paints carefully over it until the whole Napkin is covered with varnish. Excess edges are cut off if necessary. Use a sharp knife, for example a scalpel.

Finally, glue the miniature roof tiles onto the roof with hot-melt adhesive. For a true-to-original look, the tiles should be glued in overlapping rows. It is best to start with the lowest row and glue the tiles of the rows above overlapping.
