Casting decorative bowls with Raysin

These instructions show you how to make simple but elegant decorative objects using the popular Raysin 100 and Raysin 200 casting powders and silicone molds.

The difference between Raysin 100 & 200 briefly explained:

Raysin 100 is intended for smaller objects and has a lower strength. Raysin 200, on the other hand, has a higher strength and is therefore suitable for larger casting projects.

1. Preparing the casting compound
Mix the selected Raysin powder with water to form a lump-free, creamy mixture. No powder residue should remain at the bottom - mix thoroughly!

You will need the following quantities of casting compound for our idea:

"Fun stick candle holder" silicone mold: approx. 3 heaped tablespoons

"Chic stick candle holder" silicone mold: approx. 4 heaped tablespoons

Silicone mold "Tin with lid", small: approx. 2 heaped tablespoons

Silicone mold "Tin with lid", large: approx. 8 heaped tablespoons

Silicone mold " "coaster Round", 18.5 cm: approx. 5 heaped tablespoons

2. Pouring the molds
Carefully pour the finished mixture into the silicone mould. To achieve an even distribution and avoid air bubbles, tap the mold gently on a firm surface.

3. Drying and demolding time
Demold the castings after approx. 1 hour. Then allow them to dry completely in the air to achieve optimum strength. Rough edges can simply be smoothed with sandpaper .

4. Combination of the castings
Glue the "Fun stick candle holder" in the middle of the "coaster round" and place the "Chic stick candle holder" on top. Alternatively, you can glue the small "Tin with lid" onto the larger version.

Tips for silicone mould "Chic stick candle holder "
You can vary this shape in many ways with the enclosed inserts. Place them in such a way that areas that are not required are covered and therefore not poured. Discover the possibilities! Ready to get started?
